CCBC Performing Arts announces “Year of Shakespeare”
CCBC’s School of Liberal Arts is declaring its 2016-2017 season as the “Year of Shakespeare” with collaborative ventures by dance, music and theatre around the works of William Shakespeare.
“Shakespeare has such a large catalog of great works that it’s easy for the departments to collaborate artistically on a variety of projects,” says William Watson, dean of Instruction for CCBC’s School of Liberal Arts. “We are excited to kick off our new season and look forward to bring forth exciting new works to the community.”
Additionally, a new fundraising campaign is being launched to rename the CCBC Essex theatre to the F. Scott Black Theatre, in honor of the School of Liberal Arts former dean!
“Scott Black was a CCBC theatre legend,” said Watson. “He was very passionate about the Arts. Under his leadership the Theatre program became nationally accredited. Naming the theatre in his honor would be a well-earned tribute.”
