Celebrate the holidays with dance, music, theatre and astronomy!

This year get into the holiday spirit and celebrate the joy of the season by attending special seasonal events at the Community College of Baltimore County. Many are free and all are family friendly.

December 3-18 – Elf the Musical, Jr. (Children’s Playhouse of Maryland)
CCBC Essex, Administration Building, Lecture Hall
1 p.m. — December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18,
4:30 p.m. — December 4, 18;
7 p.m. — December 10,
4:30 p.m. — December 11, Special sensory-friendly performance

Tickets $10. Discounted tickets are available through the Box Office (not online): $8 for groups of eight people or more, seniors and the CCBC Community and $5 for CPM Actor List.

December 9 — What was the Christmas Star? (Planetarium show)
8 p.m., Benjamin Banneker Planetarium, Math and Science Hall, CCBC Catonsville
There are many different explanations concerning what could have been the “Star of Bethlehem.” Come see what some of them are based on both ancient writings and modern technology.
Outside observing afterwards, weather permitting.

December 10 — Santa, Stars & Other Winter Wonders (Kids show at the Planetarium)

A story for children that explains the real meaning of Christmas.

December 10 — CCBC Chamber Singers (Music at CCBC)

December 10 and 11 — A Senior Star Showcase Holiday Celebration (Senior Star Showcase)
2 p.m., CCBC Essex, Robert and Eleanor Romadka College Center, Theatre
$12 general admission, $10 seniors, students, CCBC faculty, staff, and alumni, free for CCBC students with current ID.

December 15 — An Evening of Big Band Jazz (Music at CCBC)
8 p.m., CCBC Essex, Robert and Eleanor Romadka College Center, Theatre

December 17 and 18 — Brunch with Santa (Children’s Playhouse of Maryland)
Brunch — 11:30 a.m. in the Robert and Eleanor Romadka College Center, Second Floor Café, CCBC Essex
ELF the Musical, Jr. — 1 p.m. in the Administration Building Lecture Hall, CCBC Essex
