Baltimore County, MD – Community College of Baltimore County announced that seven alumni artists will participate in Working in Progress, CCBC’s first alumni art residency and exhibit at The Galleries at CCBC Essex, Arts and Humanities Hall. The Working in Progress exhibit runs through Sept. 22 and culminates with an artists’ reception at The Galleries on Sept. 21, 6-8 p.m., to celebrate the alumni artists and their work. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
After a call for entries during the spring 2018 semester, the CCBC alumni artist finalists were chosen by a panel of two jurors including CCBC School of Technology, Art and Design Professor William Niebauer and CCBC Arts Coordinator Jessica Walton. The artists will use studio space at The Galleries at CCBC Essex to create their artwork, which showcases various media such as ceramics, fiber arts, painting, photography, woodwork and more. The Galleries and the Art, Design and Interactive Media department will facilitate access to tools and art supplies, allowing each artist to create artwork with appropriate resources.
