CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis named one of Maryland’s Most Admired CEOs

The 2018 Most Admired CEOs will be honored Nov. 5 at a dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport Hotel, 1739 West Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights.
The Daily Record created the Most Admired CEOs awards program to recognize talented business CEOs and nonprofit executive directors throughout Maryland for their leadership and vision. The winners were selected based on professional accomplishments, community service and letters of reference submitted by co-workers, board members and community leaders showing the CEO's leadership and vision.
President Kurtinitis is an experienced and respected educator, administrator and author. Beginning her presidency at CCBC in 2005, Dr. Kurtinitis has served as a community college professional for more than 50 years and remains a dynamic leader and a tireless supporter of community colleges and their mission.
Under Dr. Kurtinitis’ leadership, CCBC has made significant strides in improving service to students while strengthening its operational areas to best support instruction. She has brought strong central leadership across the college while fostering a collaborative, learning-centered environment throughout the institution.
Known nationally as a thought-provoking leader, Dr. Kurtinitis is often asked to serve on a variety of volunteer and professional boards. She currently serves as chair of the American Association of Community College’s board of directors and is a member of the Maryland Association of Community Colleges, the Maryland Business Roundtable and the Maryland Chamber of Commerce among others. She has also received countless awards throughout her career to include the Leadership Baltimore County Community Leadership Award (2017), the Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction from the Phi theta Kappa Honor Society (2017) and she is a Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame Inductee (2015).
