Sheldon K. Caplis
Caplis has a strong background in fund raising, particularly within educational institutions. Before joining Citi, Caplis served as the vice president for Institutional Advancement at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. During his tenure, UMBC completed a seven-year, $66 million fundraising campaign exceeding its goal of $50 million.
He also held several positions at the University of Baltimore including vice president for Institutional Advancement, vice president for Development and associate professor in the Merrick School of Business.
A community leader, Caplis served on the board of directors for the Council for the Advancement and Support for Education, Maryland Business Roundtable for Education, The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore and chaired a task force for the Maryland State Department of Education. He received his B.S. from the University of Baltimore and his M.B.A. from Morgan State University. Caplis is also accredited as a Certified Fund Raising Executive.
