Introduction to Data Communications

DCOM 101

Provides an overview of computer networking including servers, switches, routers, LAN's, WAN's, network protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, network topologies, and wireless. Topics include network design, implementation, and management, security configuration, and troubleshooting. Designed for a student pursuing a career in networking. NOTE: Course offered fall, spring, and may be offered during additional sessions.

  • Prerequisite(s) : ESOL 042 and ESOL 044 or ACLT 052; and MATH 081
