In the spring, a non-credit course is being offered at CCBC Hunt Valley to compliment this trip. Topics will include: the native Aborigines of Australia, the native Maoris of New Zealand, the history and founding of New Zealand and Australia, environment and natural resources, current economic and political issues.

Overview of trip

Join us for this 22-day tour to "Down Under!" Highlights of the tour include the Victorian city of Melbourne. From there we will fly deep in the Outback to Alice Springs. We'll visit the old telegraph station, the huge desert monolith known as Ayres Rock, and much more. The trip continues with exploration of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. Then it's on to the sights of Sydney, including the famed Opera House on Sydney Harbour and the Rocks District. 

We'll see wallabies, koala bears and other native animals, enjoy a dinner cruise of Sydney Harbour and much more. A flight takes us to New Zealand where we'll visit the beautiful English city of Christchurch, have dinner with a local family, and explore the Franz Joseph Glacier Region with its' spectacular Southern Alps. Next we'll travel throughout the mountains and beautiful coastline to Queenstown, Millford Sound and Mt. Cook. The trip will conclude with 2 nights in Fiji, where you can rest and enjoy the beauty of this South Pacific paradise.
