Sequence Scholarship for Continuing Education Programs

The Maryland Workforce Sequence Scholarship is an award given to eligible Continuing Education students who are enrolled in specific workforce training certificate programs. Recipients of the Sequence Scholarship can use the award towards tuition, fees and associated costs of attendance. Students can receive an for an award of up to $2,000 per year, for up to two eligible programs.

Eligibility

To be eligible, students must be U.S. citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents, and must show a Maryland Driver's License or ID card, OR one of the following unexpired documents.

U.S. citizens, born or naturalized must bring a copy of one of the following to submit with application:

  • U.S. Birth Certificate
  • U.S. Passport or Passport Card
  • Certificate of Naturalization
Lawful Permanent Residents should bring a copy of one of the following to submit with application:
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Proof of Asylum Refugee status: I-94, I-94A, or Temporary form I-551
  • Certificate of Citizenship (if child of a U.S. citizen parent — natural or adopted prior to age 16).

Students must also:

  • Live in Maryland, or have graduated from a Maryland high school and/or
  • Are an active duty member of the U.S. Military stationed, residing or domiciled in Maryland.
