Mental Health Program

Welcome Prospective Mental Health Student:

The Mental Health Program is designed to meet the needs of the community's health care delivery system by training middle level workers to serve as part of an interdisciplinary team. The generalist concept is the basis of training mental health/human services workers to respond to the direct needs of the client and also provide indirect supportive services. There is an emphasis on the student's own awareness of her/his values, attitudes and growth. As a caregiver, the potential human services worker needs to be aware of her/his development as a total person in order to view the client as a whole person and respond to the client's needs appropriately.

Mental Health graduates work with:

  • psychiatrists
  • psychologists
  • social workers
  • teachers

Graduates provide services directly to clients who may be in need of counseling, therapy, education or help with social problem. Activities can range from information gathering and intake work to therapeutic companionship and supervised individual and group counseling.

Thank you for choosing the CCBC Mental Health Program!
