Admissions Process
Each year students are selected for admission into the Mental Health Program; however, enrollment in this curriculum is limited by the availability of clinical training facilities.
School of Health Professions Policies
Professional Behavior

The School of Health Professions requires that all students will conduct themselves in a professional manner as described in the SHP policy manual or individual program handbook.
Criminal Background Checks
-
Students who are accepted into any of the SHP programs will be required to participate in a criminal background check. The student will pay for the background check and may be asked to provide a copy of the results to clinical sites. Applicants are hereby notified that many state and national certification agencies will not grant a license or certification to students who have positive findings in their background checks.
Drug Testing

Students who are accepted into any of the SHP programs are hereby notified that they may be required to participate in random urine testing.
Admissions Steps

Apply for admission to The Community College of Baltimore County.

Review the Admissions Guidelines.

Schedule an appointment with the Program Case Manager - Mr. JohnCoffman - 443-840-1973 and visit the Online Academic Advising center.

Register for and complete Mental Health 101, Introduction to Mental Health

This course must be completed with a grade of "C" or better before a student will be admitted into the program

Complete and submit the Selective Admissions application to the Bursar's office along with the $15 fee by the application deadline.

Submit all external transcripts, CLEP scores, Advanced Placement scores, and evaluations of international transcripts to the Office of Selective Admissions by the application deadline.

Complete the Mental Health - Prospective Student Questionnaire and submit to the Office of Selective Admissions.

Submit three (3) Mental Health- Applicant Recommendation Forms to the Office of Selective Admissions.

Schedule an interview with the program coordinator after all requested materials have been completed and submitted. To schedule an appointment, please call 443-840-1429 between 8:30a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
