Aurelia T. Burt
Aurelia T. Burt was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 1997.
She has been active in education for 35 years as a teacher,
counselor, principal, evaluator, and consultant. Mrs. Burt’s work
as an educational consultant has taken her into public, parochial,
and independent schools in many parts of the United States and
several foreign countries. In this capacity, she works with
administrators and boards of trustees regarding long-range
planning, school reorganization and expansion, and other school
issues. She conducts faculty workshops on educational research,
curriculum development, pedagogy, diversity and multi-cultural
education. Her involvement in teacher training includes being the
Director of the Beginning Teacher Institute for first-year
teachers. She is also a presenter at national and regional
education conferences.
Ms. Burt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American
civilization from the University of Maryland at College Park and a
master’s degree in psychology and counseling from Loyola College
in Baltimore.
