Elayne Hettleman
Elayne Hettleman was appointed to the CCBC Board of Trustees in
1995. She is presently executive director of LEADERSHIP -
Baltimore County, located in Towson, Md., a position she has held
since 1983.
The Daily Record named her one of Maryland’s top 100 women in
March 1997. Among her most significant accomplishments, Hettleman
was president of the Catonsville Community College Foundation at a
time when the foundation raised $8 million for the college’s first
capital campaign. She also redesigned LEADERSHIP - Baltimore
County to become one of the most successful programs in Baltimore
County with more than 500 active alumni involved in 600 volunteer
organizations.
A native of Bronx, New York, she is very involved in the
community. Hettleman is a member of the Community Resource Board
for the Junior League of Baltimore, and is on the Advisory Board
of Literacy Works. Hettleman has also served as honorary chairman
of Book Bash. She currently serves on the Police Athletic League
Board and the United Way Regional Partnership Board. She is a past
member of the Baltimore County Arts and Science Commission.
In addition to her service to CCBC, Hettleman is past president of
the Maryland Association of Community Colleges (MACC), and was a
board member and regional chairman for the Association of
Community College Trustees (ACCT). Hettleman served as vice
chairman of the CCBC Board of Trustees from 2005-2007.
