AUTO 101 – 4 Credits
Servicing Automotive Heating and Air-Conditioning Systems

Introduces automotive heating and air-conditioning systems, components, operations, and service procedures; includes component replacement and system purging, evacuating, charging, and testing. NOTE: Courses offered once a year (fall or spring).

Prerequisite: AUTO 131 Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 126 – 4 Credits
Repairing Automotive Brake Systems

Introduces diagnosis and repair of automotive brake systems and components; includes disassembly, overhaul, repair of hydraulic systems, disc brake systems, drum brake systems, power brake systems, and associated repairs. NOTE: Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions. Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 131 – 4 Credits
Servicing Automotive Electrical and Electronic Systems

Introduces various automotive electrical and electronic components, operations, and service procedures; includes service of the battery, starting systems, charging systems, accessories, chassis wiring, and electronic engine controls. NOTE: Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions. Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 136 – 5 Credits
Repairing Automotive Electrical Systems

Discusses diagnosis and repair of automotive electrical systems and components; includes disassembly, overhaul and repair of starting systems, accessories, and chassis wiring, emphasizing diagnosis and repair of these systems. NOTE: Courses offered once a year (fall or spring).

AUTO 141 – 5 Credits
Servicing Automotive Engines - Related Systems

Introduces various automotive engines, components, operations, and service procedures; includes servicing, removing, and replacing engine systems such as cooling, lubrication, fuel, ignition, and emission control. NOTE: Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions. Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 151 – 5 Credits
Repairing Automotive Automatic Transmissions

Introduces diagnosis and repair of automatic transmissions and transaxles; includes disassembly, component repair, adjustments, reassembly, and external adjustments. NOTE: Courses offered once a year (fall or spring). Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 156 – 4 Credits
Repairing Automotive Manual Transmissions

Discusses diagnosis and repair of automotive manual transmissions transaxles and differentials; includes diagnosis, disassembly, repair of manual transmissions, manual transaxles, differentials, and drive axles. NOTE: Courses offered once a year (fall or spring). Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 161 – 5 Credits
Repairing Automotive Electronics

Discusses diagnosis and repair of automotive electronic systems and components; includes diagnosis disassembly, and repair of electronic components such as computerized engine control, electronic ignition and fuel injection, and other electronic accessories. NOTE: Courses offered once a year (fall or spring).

Prerequisites: AUTO 131 and AUTO 141 Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 171 – 4 Credits
Repairing Automotive Suspension Systems

Discusses diagnosis and repair of automotive steering and suspension systems and their components; include diagnosis, disassembly, repair of suspension, and four-wheel alignment. NOTE: Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions. Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 231 – 5 Credits
Repairing Automotive Engines

Discusses diagnosis and repair of automotive engines; includes engine evaluation, removal, disassembly, cylinder head reconditioning, crankshaft and bearing reconditioning, cylinder and piston reconditioning, engine reassembly, engine installation, and associated repairs. Students are encouraged to bring an engine in to overhaul for a class project. NOTE: Courses offered once a year (fall or spring).

Prerequisites: AUTO 156 or 151, AUTO 131, and AUTO 141 Lab fee: $40.00

AUTO 241 – 5 Credits
Repairing Automotive Engines - Related Systems

Discusses diagnosis and repair of engine performance-related component systems; laboratory experiences will include diagnosis, disassembly, overhaul, and repair of fuel emission, ignition, and engine-related systems as well as associated repairs. NOTE: Courses offered once a year (fall or spring).
