*A new college orientation requirement, completion of the one-credit ACDV 101 course, Transitioning to College, goes into effect spring 2010. If you are a credit student who is new to college in the spring 2010 semester (meaning you have not previously successfully completed college coursework at another institution(s)), you are required to take ACDV 101 during your first semester at CCBC, thereby increasing the number of credits required for the degree to 64-66 credits. PLEASE NOTE: If you are new to college and completed one or more credit courses successfully at CCBC in the fall 2009 semester, you are ENCOURAGED but NOT REQUIRED to take ACDV 101 in the spring 2010 semester.

Program Description

This degree option gives students a solid background in interactive design and imaging hardware and software. Through design projects and hands-on experience they will develop a working knowledge of interactive design and multimedia project authoring. This degree option prepares students for entry-level positions with multimedia design and production companies, advertising design firms, corporate training developers, and companies specializing in electronic publication and Web design.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. create dynamic interactive projects using the latest interactive authoring software;
  2. understand and use high-end Web/HTML authoring software;
  3. create, organize and deploy professional Web sites;
  4. understand and use digital imaging hardware and image editing software;
  5. create, edit and enhance video content for the Web;
  6. create, mix, and enhance audio files and soundtracks;
  7. design intuitive user interfaces and navigational elements;
  8. create interactive content that is deliverable through multiple screen-based formats;
  9. create sophisticated and engaging animation for the Web; and
  10. understand the project lifecycle as it relates to screen-based media.
