Looking Into Space
The motions of the Earth will be demonstrated in speeded-up
fashion. After the sun's position shifts quickly across the
daytime sky, the planets and stars in the evening sky will come
into view. While the Earth spins beneath the night sky, various
constellations will be pointed out. After viewing the sky above
Maryland, you will see the sky viewed from different parts of the
world and from up in orbit around the Earth. The motions of the
Moon and the planets can be observed when the Earth's revolution
around the Sun is speeded up.
