Hello!
I can’t believe fall is upon us as we start another semester of classes.
We have been celebrating CCBC’s 50th Anniversary year with activities
happening every month, so please make sure you check the calendar at www.ccbcmd.edu/anniversary/events.html
and find something that appeals to you. It’s a year-long celebration, so
come out and have some fun.
We have extended the deadline for nominations for the CCBC Alumni
Association Distinguished Alumni Award. I know we must have some
wonderful alumni out there that are doing great things. Do you know of
one? If so, please go to www.ccbcmd.edu/ccbcalumni/disalumaward
and nominate someone. Hey, you can even nominate yourself!
We are looking for past student leaders. The CCBC Alumni Association
will be having is annual SGA/Alumni Association Board reception on
November 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the Q Theater Lounge at CCBC Catonsville.
We would like to have some past student leaders come and mingle with the
current SGA leaders and alumni board members and share memories from
when you were a student at the Community College of Baltimore County or
the previous three community colleges of Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex.
Please contact me at 410-285-9545 or e-mail me at smelvin@ccbcmd.edu.
I’d love to chat with you.
I’m asking all business owners who are alumni of CCBC to please get in
touch with me. We would like to develop an alumni business directory.
This will enable people who are looking for special services to utilize
our alumni. It’s also a good opportunity for you to advertise your
business. Please give me a call and get your business listed.
Do you have a skill or talent you would like to show off or simply share
with others? How a business that might help someone? Well, CCBC is
looking for you. Every year we have a Professional Development Day in
May for all of the CCBC faculty and staff. We are looking for alumni
that might be willing to help us with that. Professional Development Day
will be on May 21, 2008. Please contact me at 410-285-9545 or you can
e-mail me at smelvin@ccbcmd.edu
for more information. We promise to feed you and get you a captive
audience.
As always, let us hear from you. If you haven’t been receiving the
alumni magazine or want to get updated, you can always call or e-mail
us. There is a lot going on at CCBC and with the alumni association, so
don’t miss out!
In the CCBC spirit,
Stephanie Z. Melvin Director
