Rock Guitar for Teens (Ages 11-16)

Do you have a guitar? Always wanted to be in a band but not sure how to get started? Then this class is for you. Learn to play the guitar by studying traditional rock rhythms, progressions, stylistic sounds and phrasing of some of the most popular guitar artists. Students will learn the basic music theory skills necessary to play some of their favorite music or begin to write their own. This class is designed for the teen with little or no formal guitar training.

Private Lessons
Private music instruction on most instruments and voice is offered for both youth and adult students. Through high-quality one-on-one instruction, students progress with individual attention appropriate to their skill level and ability. Lessons are arranged on an individual basis with the appropriate instructor, instruments are not provided. Before registering, call the Creative Arts Center at 410-780-6533 to make arrangements for placement with an instructor. Students must be 6 years old for piano, 8 years for other instruments, and 11 or older for voice. Lessons are offered at Catonsville, Dundalk, and Essex campuses and other locations in the county. Not all instruments are offered at all locations.

Japanese Anime and Manga (Ages 12-16)

More than just Japanese anime (animation) and manga (comics). This class will give you insight into Japanese culture and give you an understanding and appreciation of Asian mythology, symbolism, martial arts, and Zen philosophy. Computer Animation Workshop (2 week class)

In this creative workshop, students learn to draw and produce a short animation using Macromedia Flash animation software. The class explores basic concepts of computer animation including basic drawing tools as well as simple animations, glow buttons, graphic morphing and graphic layering.
