Question: Where do my Student Activities fees go?

Your Student Activities fees go toward a wide array of events and services for students. Examples include, but are not limited to, campus social events like the Welcome Back picnic, performers, speakers, and the college's student newspaper.

Question: Where is the CCBC shuttle pick-up? What are the times that it runs?

The shuttle runs Monday through Friday at varying times. Please check the Shuttle Service Schedule for detailed departure times.

  • CCBC Catonsville: The shuttle arrives at and departs from the Library. This shuttle travels between Catonsville and Essex.
  • CCBC Essex: The shuttle arrives at and departs from SSRV. Please make sure you get on the correct shuttle. There is a shuttle that travels between Essex and Catonsville, and there is another shuttle that travels between Essex and Dundalk.
  • CCBC Dundalk: The shuttle arrives at and departs from SSRV. This shuttle travels between Dundalk and Essex.

Question: Where can I purchase MTA bus passes?

  • CCBC Catonsville: Bookstore, SSRV, Lower Level
  • CCBC Essex: Bookstore, COMM 112
  • CCBC Dundalk: Bookstore, COMM 115

Question: What MTA buses come to campus?

  • CCBC Catonsville: Bus 77 in front of TRAN and HUMN Buildings
  • CCBC Essex: Bus numbers 4 and 35 in front of HETC. Bus numbers 4, 24, 35, 55 drop off and pick-up at Franklin Square Hospital.
  • CCBC Dundalk: The number 20 bus comes into the campus (near STAT) and the 4 goes to the outskirts of the campus.

Question: Where can I get a print-out of my class schedule?

You can print out a copy of your class schedule from your Simon account or go to:

  • CCBC Catonsville: Enrollment Services in SSRV 206
  • CCBC Essex: Enrollment Services in SSRV 150
  • CCBC Dundalk: Enrollment Services in COMM, 2nd Floor (Temporary Location)

Question: Where do I get a CCBC photo ID?

  • CCBC Catonsville: Enrollment Services in SSRV 206

Question: How do I get a locker on campus?

  • CCBC Catonsville:This campus does not have lockers.
  • CCBC Essex: You rent a locker through the Student Life Office in COMM 116. The cost is $5.00 per semester.
  • CCBC Dundalk:You rent a locker through the Student Life Office in COMM 221. The cost is $5.00 per semester.

Question: Do you have information on housing?

Question: Where can I fax/copy?

  • CCBC Catonsville: You can make copies for 10 cents per page in the library.
  • CCBC Essex: Students can fax college related items in the Office of Student Life (COMM 116) and copies can be made for 10 cents per page in the library.
  • CCBC Dundalk: You can fax or make limited copies in the Office of Student life office (COMM 221).

Question: How do I start a new club?

  • CCBC Catonsville: Information to start a new club is available in the Office of Student Life, BARN 102
  • CCBC Essex:Information to start a new club is available in the Office of Student Life, COMM 116.
  • CCBC Dundalk: Information to start a new club is available in the Office of Student Life, COMM 221.

Question: How do I get information on clubs or organizations? When do they meet?

  • CCBC Catonsville: Information concerning clubs is available at the Student Life Office, BARN 102.
  • CCBC Essex: Information concerning clubs is available at the Student Life Office, COMM 116.
  • CCBC Dundalk:Information concerning clubs is available at the Student Life Office, COMM 221.

Question: How can I use the gym, pool or weight room?

  • CCBC Catonsville: Information is available in the Wellness & Athletics Center (WELL).

Question: How do I get a refund from the vending machines on campus?

  • CCBC Catonsville: Please visit Dining Services in SSRV, Lower Level.
  • CCBC Essex: Please visit Dining Services in COMM, Upper Level.
  • CCBC Dundalk: Please visit Dining Services in COMM, Lower Level.

Question: Is there a U.S. postal mailbox on campus?

  • CCBC Catonsville: The mailbox is located in front of the Hilton Mansion (HILT) at the entrance of the parking lot.
  • CCBC Essex: The mailbox is located between ADMN and BESS.
  • CCBC Dundalk: The mailbox is located on the side of SSRV where the shuttle stops.

Question: How do I get involved in co-curricular (club) activities?

Question: Is there a minimum GPA requirement to either be involved in or hold a leadership position in Student Life?

Students who hold a leadership position within a club/organization are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and a minimum 2.0 GPA in the prior semester if applicable. The Executive Officers of the Student Government Association (SGA), Student Life Ambassadors, and First-Year Experience (FYE) Mentors are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3 and a 2.3 in the prior semester if applicable. Students who do not maintain these standards will be removed from their leadership positions but are encouraged to continue participating in Student Life.

Question: When/Where/How much is a particular trip?

The cost of each trip varies, but Student Life’s goal is to provide quality entertainment for affordable prices. Please note that sometimes transportation is included in the cost; for other events, you must find your own transportation.

Question: What is an instructor’s email address?

The instructor’s email address will be listed on the first page of the syllabus.

Question: How do I get a transcript of my grades?

You can print out an unofficial transcript of your grades from your Simon account or by visiting the Enrollment Services Center:

Question: Do I have to pay for the rights for a film if I am not charging a fee to see the film?

Yes. You must pay for the rights for a film for any showing that is open to the public despite the cost.

Question: I'm showing a film for a class only? Do I still have to buy the rights to the film?

No, you do not have to buy the rights to a film if the film is shown specifically as part of the course curriculum and only the students who are enrolled in that class view the film.

Question: I would like to show a film for a program for my club/organization. What do I do to buy the rights to a film?

Contact Swank Motion Pictures at www.swank.com or at Criterion Pictures www.criterionpic.com. You can search for the film(s) on their website. If they carry the film, you can choose to have it mailed to you in addition to buying the rights to show the film. You can also rent the movie on your own and just pay for the film rights. The company will send you the bill for the film(s) in the mail. The main number is 1-800-876-3344. The Maryland representative will also help you with the process of ordering the film. Please contact the Student Life Office to verify that all appropriate measures are taken.
