Dear Colleagues:
I want to invite each of you to join me in a very special activity. This is our 50th Anniversary; CCBC'ers (and CCC'ers/DCC'ers/and ECC'ers) have been doing good work for an awfully long time. Now, as we launch our 2008 CCBC Employee Giving Campaign, it would be wonderful to commemorate our college's 50th anniversary year with 100 percent employee participation to meet a goal of $50,000: 50 for 50, if you will.
Every year this campaign gives all of us as college employees the opportunity to make a different kind of difference in our student's lives. And every year, both current and former college employees respond generously. As a way to celebrate our Golden Anniversary, we would like to make this Employee Giving Campaign extra special -- to not just meet our goal but to push us over the top!
Last year’s campaign raised $43,104. Thanks to the generosity of many, students from programs such as Parallel Enrollment and the Honors Programs received scholarships, tuition assistance and funding for textbooks. Students who might otherwise have had to borrow textbooks or read them in the library could buy their own. Students without transportation could afford to ride the bus. Students who might not otherwise have attended class had their tuition paid to ensure that they could. Our gifts enhance our students’ experience at CCBC, and as part of this campaign we can designate them to support almost any cause we wish. In this way, we help students but we also strengthen our college community as a whole.
So, please help make a positive difference in the lives of our students and their families again this year by joining our campaign. Small or large gifts are all welcome - and those of you who have had a private parking space for a year from last year's giving campaign know that giving has its tangible rewards beyond the satisfaction of helping others.
For your convenience – and to make our campaign "greener" – all donor information and forms are available through this web site. If you contributed to last year’s campaign, you will receive a reminder from the foundation office indicating the fund you donated to and the amount of your contribution. Any paid donation made in this calendar year whether by check, credit card or through payroll deduction is tax deductible this year.
As members of an academic community, we all play a role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of education at CCBC. The Employee Giving Campaign is an execellent opportunity to celebrate the generous spirit of our college community and the commitment of our staff to make a difference. "50 for 50" - has a nice ring, doesn't it. Let's make it happen!
Sincerely,

Sandra Kurtinitis
