CONTINUING EDUCATION
In addition to college credits classes, The Labor Studies Program offers a
regular series of one-day continuing education classes on specialized topics.
Theses classes may be held as open enrollment or a local may sponsor a class
for its members. The classes generally run for 7 ½ hours and can be scheduled
anywhere in the state, or they may be offered nationwide via the CCBC interactive
television setup.
The regular classes include:
Workers Compensation
This class provides a thorough examination of the law in Maryland, with a discussion
of the "slip-trip-fall" standard now in effect. There will also be
a full presentation on the role of the union stewards and officers in handling
some workers comp claims.
Instructor: Charles Wagner
Public Speaking For Union Officers Scared to speak up?
