Information literacy is a set of abilities requiring individuals to "recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information." ... Information Literacy: Basic Information for Faculty and Administrators provides an introduction to the concept of information literacy and model information literacy programs. It is designed specifically for academic administrators and faculty.

S.O.S. for Information Literacy is a dynamic web-based multimedia resource that includes lesson plans, handouts, presentations, videos and other resources to enhance the teaching of Information Literacy.

ACRL Info Lit Initiatives ACRL has programs in the areas of: Professional Development, Assessment, Instructional Development, and Partnerships. Spearheading many of these programs is the Institute for Information Literacy.

National Forum on Information Literacy is a forum on Information Literacy. It includes meetings, weblogs, information literacy stars (faculty incorporating information literacy in their classes), international news and websites on Information Literacy and an e-journal NORIL on information literacy.
