Web Research Sites:

Baltimore Architecture Project provides a free, publicly searchable Internet database of biographical and historical information on Baltimore's buildings and their architects. Currently, the time frame covered is 1850-1945. It is a collaboration from the collections, data, images, and professional expertise of the Sheridan Libraries of The Johns Hopkins University, Towson University, Baltimore Architecture Foundation, and Maryland Historical Society.

Musee Directories of Museums (37,000 Museums, global)

RLG’s ArchiveGrid database containing nearly a million collection descriptions of thousands of archives, museums, and libraries remains free for a few more weeks (June 30, 2006).

SEC.gov An invaluable resource for anyone interested in business, investing and finance, now more than ever, thanks to new search tools and options. See "Filings and Forms" (a.k.a. EDGAR) to access any public company's earnings reports and other public documents, including mutual fund prospectuses.

MSN Search is offering a free access to the full text (not just blurbs) of Microsoft's Encarta encyclopedia. You're given a two hour free pass (set via a cookie) to the full text of the entire encyclopedia. Once your pass is activated, you can search and access the full text using Encarta search box.

Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research and is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences.

Mr.Sapo.com Why go to every search engine to get results when you can access them all from one page? That’s the idea behind MrSapo.com, which gives users the option to receive results from 24 different engines. Type in the search term at the top of the page, click one of the search engine buttons and MrSapo displays results from that particular web site. You also have the option to limit your searchers by criteria such as images and audio/video

Scirus: Something new from Elsevier's science only search tool. It offers access to open web and proprietary "science" related content. "How Scirus Works"

4info.net - mobile search and info tools. Provides a variety of content including:+ Local Info+ Stock Quotes+ Sports Scores+ Flight Info+ Movie Times. According to their web site, several services are "coming soon" including driving directions and comparison shopping.
