  • CCBC Uses Cutting-edge Technology to Reach Local Teens
    Using the latest multimedia technology developed by local firm Etelligent Technologies, CCBC is mailed all Baltimore County Public School juniors and seniors interactive, multimedia EtelliCards (wallet/business card-sized CD-ROMs) that drive the user to the CCBC Web site.

  • CCBC Partners with Walden University to Deliver Online Degrees CCBC and Walden University, one of the most respected and experienced distance-learning universities in the country, are partnering to provide a bachelor’s degree completion program for CCBC students and master’s and Ph.D. degrees for CCBC faculty and staff.

  • CCBC Catonsville Becomes Regional Site for Disney Program
    Members of this Mickey Mouse Club aren’t sitting in front of the television singing the song; they are actually working alongside caricatures of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck through the Walt Disney World College Program.

  • Campuses, CEED Partner for BCPS Breakfast
    During November, Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) hosted an unprecedented meeting where representatives from each of CCBC’s main campuses (Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex) and Continuing Education collaborated their resources to hold an informational breakfast for Baltimore County Public School (BCPS) counselors.

  • CCBC Television Plans Four New Cable Shows
    CCBC-TV plans to launch four new cable television series in Spring 2003 showcasing college events, programs, services and accomplishments. These programs will be cablecast on CCBC-TV Channel 71 on Comcast Cable in Baltimore County.

  • Employee Giving Campaign Exceeds Goal Yet Again
    Once again, the CCBC Dundalk annual employee giving campaign has exceeded its goal, this year raising $15,821 in support of student scholarships, tuition assistance and special programs, faculty/staff development, academic equipment and special projects.

  • Foundation Awards Fall Scholarships
    The DCC Foundation awarded a total of $12,750 in Fall 2003 scholarships to 27 students from CCBC Dundalk.

  • Judges Bestow Gold, Silver and Bronze on CCBC for 2002 Marketing and PR Awards
    CCBChas once again earned national recognition for excellence in marketing and public relations. The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) awarded CCBC six Medallion awards during the annual District I conference held in October in Philadelphia, Pa.

  • Community Forum Examines ‘The Road to War’
    It was standing room only at the recent CCBC Dundalk-sponsored community forum on the “Further Resolution on Iraq.” The forum was held in response to a proposal recently passed by Congress that authorizes the use of all means (including force) to defend the national security interest of the United States against threats posed by Iraq.

  • Campus Memorializes First African-American Faculty Member
    On Nov. 14, CCBC employees honored Leroy E. Giles, the first African-American faculty member at CCBC Catonsville. Giles, a professor and former chairman of English at CCBC Catonsville, died Oct. 27 at Washington Hospital Center. He was 73 and had lived for almost 30 years in Catonsville. He will be most remembered for his infectious laugh and his commitment to improve education for minority students.

  • Family Gift and Foundation Fund New Library Resources
    The ECC Foundation put its money to work this fall funding two major resources in the CCBC Essex Library—Student Study Rooms and the Learning and Teaching Excellence Center. These facilities were underwritten by major gifts from the Romadka family and the ECC Foundation.

  • Sports Teams Win Major Championships
    CCBC athletic teams are on a roll winning championships both regionally and nationally.

  • P-Card Purchases Save Time, Money and Paperwork
    Reducing the process cost is not the only advantage in using P-Cards, or even the major advantage. The P-Card is used like any other VISA credit card. The cardholder can use it for purchases made by phone, by fax, over the Internet, or by direct over-the-counter purchase.

  • Campus Creates Forum to Discuss Violence Prevention
    CCBC Catonsville is reaching out to the community and exploring the topic of violence prevention by hosting a violence prevention summit from 8:30 a.m. until noon, Friday, Dec. 13 in room 308 of the Humanities building.

    The American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) chapters on CCBC campuses continue to offer enlightening discussions and activities throughout the year. Some of the most recent speakers for chapter activities featured speakers who have close ties to the CCBC family.

  • Art Gallery Gets a Facelift
    The Art Galley at CCBC Catonsville has a new look. After extensive renovations to the building, the Art Gallery is more open and airy, making it a better space to display artwork.

  • Book Bridge Project Enters Third Year at CCBC Catonsville
    Patricia Hunt, CCBC Catonsville associate professor of English, presented several life lessons during a book review of Having Our Say written by Sarah and Elizabeth Delany.
