Employee Giving Campaign again benefits from the ‘Dundalk Difference’

CCBC employees contributing to the Dundalk campus 2003 Employee Giving Campaign have once again demonstrated their collective generosity. Despite an uncertain economy, 155 faculty, staff and even several students joined forces to contribute $14,272 to the DCC Foundation’s annual Employee Giving Campaign. Proceeds from the campaign will benefit student scholarships, tuition assistance and special programs, and faculty/staff development.

“We are proud of and grateful for the response we receive from the campus community every year,” said Cathy Birkelien, DCC Foundation executive director. Since the first campaign in 1988, CCBC Dundalk employees have contributed more than $160,000 through this annual effort. The average gift has grown to $92.

Over the course of the four-week campaign, employees had the chance to designate their contributions to the DCC Foundation general/endowment funds or to one of the many specific scholarship and program funds administered by the foundation. Campaign donors were rewarded for their generosity by earning one raffle ticket for each $14 contribution/payroll pledge. Individuals, local businesses, foundation board members and CCBC Dundalk programs and departments donated more than 50 raffle prizes – including items such as theatre tickets, craft items and restaurant gift certificates.

The successful campaign wrapped up with an equally successful and fun party sponsored by the Foundation. In her welcoming remarks, CCBC Dundalk/CCBC Essex President Gena Proulx personally thanked both campaign volunteers and contributors for their support of CCBC students and programs in these tight economic times.
