  • CCBC Recognized Nationally for Excellence in Budgeting
    For the second consecutive year, CCBC received national recognition for excellence in the area of budgeting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). As the recipient of the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, CCBC is part of an elite group of institutions nationwide that are committed to the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

  • Partnership Brings Forensic Science to CCBC
    Students contemplating a career in forensic science should know three things. First – typical jobs in the field bear no resemblance to the television show CSI; second – even one run-in with the law can bring career plans to a grinding halt; and third – CCBC Dundalk now offers a two-year program of study that prepares them for a bachelor of science degree program in Forensic Science at the University of Baltimore (UB).

  • CCBC Nursing Program Offers Rx for the Nursing Shortage
    This April CCBC starts a new Practical Nurse Education program in partnership with Union Memorial Hospital, a member of MedStar Health. The innovative 46-credit certificate program includes three 15-week semesters and can be completed in one year.

  • Campus Kickoffs Prepare Employees for Spring
    Excited and ready to kick off the spring semester, CCBC campus presidents rallied their troops and welcomed faculty and staff back to campus.

  • Adults Take on Child’s Play
    Every Monday through Friday, the CCBC Dundalk Children’s Center is filled with music, creative movement, art activities and interesting books read aloud. One wintry Saturday in January, the scene was the same – only the children’s chairs were occupied by adults, participating in a free workshop for local child care providers.

  • Programs Help Smokers Kick the Habit
    Last fall, dozens of local residents sought help in beating a life-threatening habit through CCBC programs aimed at stopping smoking. This year, CCBC is offering residents, faculty and staff the same opportunity.

  • Past Meets Present at National History Day
    Area middle and high school students with an eye on the past gather at CCBC Dundalk for Maryland History Day’s Central District competition on Saturday, March 15.

  • Star Parties Offer Detailed Views of the Sky
    For thousands of years, man has looked skyward with a sense of wonder and curiosity. At CCBC Dundalk, local residents and the college community will have an opportunity to view the wonders of the sky at a series of “star parties.”

  • Hagen Joins CCBC as Chief of Public Safety
    As CCBC’s new chief of Public Safety, Jeffrey Hagen is responsible for maintaining security for college property and facilities, in addition to ensuring the safety of hundreds of faculty and staff and thousands of CCBC students, visitors and guests. To some it might seem a daunting task, but to Hagen, it’s an opportunity to do meaningful work with an experienced staff.

  • National Jazz Artist Performs for CA Jazz 2003
    For years, Baltimoreans have longed for the intimate jazz scenes that can only be found in places like New York City’s infamous Blue Note Jazz Club. So for one night only, the Catonsville Community College Foundation, Inc. brought the Blue Note to Baltimore with a performance by Houston Person and his Quartet.

  • Educator Stirs Audience in Thought-provoking Message
    Barbara Dezmon, assistant to the superintendent for Equity and Assurance for Baltimore County Public Schools, gave the audience many thought-provoking perspectives at CISL Fair 2003 as she challenged them to think “outside the box” regarding teaching techniques.
