  • Chancellor Brings Keynote to Graduates
    Graduation is quickly approaching and the CCBC Graduation Planning Committee is putting the final touches on the ceremony. Held again at the Retriever Activity Center at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), the May 31 ceremony begins at 2 p.m. More than 400 graduates are expected to participate.

  • CCBC Announces Its First American Council on Education Fellow
    CCBC announced that Lillian Archer, CCBC Essex senior director, Academic Advising and Entry Services, has been named an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow for the 2003-2004 academic year. Archer is the first ACE Fellow to be selected from CCBC.

  • Foundation Starts Scholarship in Student’s Honor
    The Catonsville Community College Foundation, Inc. has started a scholarship in honor of Paul “P.J.” Edward Schafer. Schafer, a second-year student at CCBC Catonsville and captain of the lacrosse team, died of a heart attack during a CCBC Catonsville lacrosse game on Sunday, March 23, 2003.

  • Photography Exhibit Honors Nature’s Glory
    With a stunning explosion of color photographs and subtle but equally dramatic black and white images, CCBC Dundalk presented a springtime art exhibit perfectly in tune with the season.

  • Employees Spring into Good Health
    A springtime health fair sponsored by the CCBC Dundalk Multicultural Student Association brought together information, programs and services to help faculty, staff, students and community residents get on track to a healthy lifestyle.

  • CCBC, UMBC Partner on National Science Foundation Grant
    The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) has sub-awarded CCBC a portion of its $595,530 three-year National Science Foundation (NSF) grant for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Talent Expansion Program (STEP).

  • Campaign Raises Thousands for Scholarships
    The ECC Foundation raised a record $11,034 for its 2002 Internal Giving Campaign, which ran from Oct. 2002 through March 19, 2003.

  • Social Science Educators Discuss Diversity
    CCBC Essex played host to the 29th Annual Conference of the Eastern Community College Social Science Association (ECCSSA) on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29. Chancellor Irving Pressley McPhail delivered the opening address.

  • CCBC Catonsville Takes Show on the Road
    For the second year in a row, CCBC Catonsville took its show on the road and hosted open houses throughout March and April at Lansdowne, Owings Mills and Woodlawn high schools.

  • CCBC Catonsville Gears Up for Seat Belt Campaign
    Once again, CCBC Catonsville is participating in the “Click It Or Ticket” campaign, a statewide campaign that promotes seat belt safety. A series of on-campus activities as well as a seat belt safety survey are scheduled for May.

    Just two short years and an associate’s degree later, Niu, a Fall 2002 graduate of CCBC Dundalk, was named to the All-USA Academic First Team.

  • Keeping Kids on Track Earns Kudos for Instructor
    CCBC Occupational Training Center Instructor Larry Alia is not only known for the positive work he does at the Department of Corrections where he teaches, he’s also known for the good work he does at home and in the community. His efforts have led to he and his wife being named Foster Parents of the Year.
