Dundalk Relay for Life is Best Ever

For 13 hours one muggy June evening, the CCBC Dundalk campus became a mini-city whose residents all had a common goal: the eradication of cancer. The 2002 American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event was the most successful ever for the Dundalk community, which fielded 38 teams and raised $81,000.

CCBC Dundalk was a proud sponsor of the event, providing the site and a variety of logistical services. Jean Little, Health Life Fitness facilities coordinator for the campus, served as chairman of this year's Relay. The evening's festivities included the first-ever "Kid's Relay," organized by Donna Benson, group leader in the CCBC Dundalk Children's Center. One of CCBC Dundalk's five Relay teams, the "Dundalk City Posse," won first prize for most creative tent site. The CCBC Dundalk "Wild Wahinis" placed second in the same category.
