CCBC DUNDALK SETS DATE FOR COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE
Baltimore County, Md. – The Community College of Baltimore
County, Dundalk (CCBC Dundalk) will conduct a community blood drive from
1 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, July 29, in the Student Lounge of the K
Building, CCBC Dundalk, 7200 Sollers Point Road.
According to the Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Blood Services Region of
the American Red Cross, the recent drop in blood donor appointments and
the show rates at blood drives has forced them to limit distribution of
blood products to some 80 hospitals and 10 trauma centers that they
supply daily. The need for blood for trauma victims, cancer patients,
burn victims and surgical candidates remains critical.
To be eligible to give blood, donors must:
-
Be generally in good health
-
Be at least 17 years of age, or in the state of Maryland only, 16
years of age with written parental consent
-
Weigh no less than 100 pounds
-
Have NOT received a tattoo with the past year
-
Have NOT donated whole blood within the past 56 days
For additional information about the blood drive, call the CCBC Dundalk
Office of Student Activities at 443-840-3350.
