CCBC hosts College Goal Sunday
February 10 event scheduled for Catonsville and Dundalk campuses

Baltimore County, Md. – The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is hosting College Goal Sunday, a public service to the community, starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. This one-day event helps students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – a requirement by colleges and universities to qualify for scholarships, grants and loans. The event takes place on the second floor of the K Building at the Catonsville campus and in the K Building in the cafeteria on the Dundalk campus.

The DE-DC-MD Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, Inc. (ASFAA) is the sponsor for College Goal Sunday in Maryland. CCBC regularly participates in this event and this year, along with Goucher College, is the only site offering this event within Baltimore County.

Students attending College Goal Sunday must bring proof of 2007 income and benefits information, such as completed or estimated IRS federal income tax returns and W-2 forms, or year-end pay stubs and proof of untaxed income, for the student and the parent(s). Financial aid counselors will be available to assist with the completion of the forms and to answer questions.

All college-bound students are invited to attend College Goal Sunday to receive free help. The primary goal of College Goal Sunday is to make sure that needy families take the first step toward obtaining financial aid and accurately completing the FAFSA so that funds can be made available to those striving for a higher education.

For more information on College Goal Sunday in Maryland, Delaware and D.C., students can call 866-GO2GOAL or visit www.GO2GOAL.org.
