CCBC Foundation announces new executive board
Baltimore, Md. – The Community College of Baltimore County Foundation recently named its new executive board. New executive board members include Neil Katz (chairman), Rick Yaffe (vice chairman) and August Chiasera (secretary/treasurer).
Katz, an Owings Mills resident, is the Chief Executive Officer of Corridor Reznick LLC and is celebrating 25 years in the commercial real estate industry. He is an active member of the community holding memberships on several boards and organizations including Leadership Maryland, Boys & Girls Club of Baltimore, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, the Alex Brown Center for Entrepreneurship at UMBC and many others. He is involved in several professional organizations including the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. In the years 2003 – 2006 he received Baltimore’s Commercial Real Estate Heavy Hitters Award from the Baltimore Business Journal.
Katz holds a bachelor of science degree in Finance from University of Delaware and has done graduate work in Real Estate at American University and University of Wisconsin.
Yaffe serves as president of Butler Medical Transport, an ambulance company that provides emergency medical transportation in the Baltimore and Washington area. He started the business in 2001. A man committed to affordable education, Yaffe agreed to serve on the CCBC Foundation board in an effort to create educational opportunities for others.
Yaffe is a member of the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company, a member of the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company and on the board of the Jewish Vocational Services. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and received further training as a paramedic from the Baltimore County Fire Department and CCBC. Yaffe lives in Owings Mills with his wife and three children.
Chiasera is senior vice president at M&T Bank Corporation and president of the bank’s Greater Baltimore region. He’s responsible for all commercial lending, non-credit sales and customer service activities for middle market and large corporate banking customers in the Greater Baltimore market. He is also responsible for coordinating the efforts of all business lines in M&T Bank’s Greater Baltimore community.
Chiasera actively participates in a number of Baltimore community organizations and boards including Center Stage Theatre, the Maryland Science Center and Baltimore’s American Heart Association. In 2005, Baltimore Business Journal identified him as one of Greater Baltimore’s “40 under 40.” Chiasera earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and his bachelor’s degree from Boston University. He resides in Lutherville, Md.
The CCBC Foundation supports the college by providing additional resources that help ensure access to higher education and student success. Money raised through the foundation supports student scholarships, academic programs, capital improvement projects and more.
