Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre’s production of 'Love, Sex and the I.R.S.' set for
June 20-29 in the Cabaret Theatre at CCBC Essex

Baltimore County, Md. – Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre continues its 36th season with the madcap farce Love, Sex and the I.R.S. by Billy van Zandt and Jane Milmore, running June 20-29 in the B Building Cabaret Theatre at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Tickets range from $13 to $15 and are available by calling the Box Office at 410-780-6369.

Love, Sex and the I.R.S. is a wild farce with twists of fate, sight gags, mistaken identities and hilarious comic lines. Jon Trachtman (Alexander L. Cecchetti of Owings Mills) and Leslie Arthur (Drew Gaver of Baltimore) are out-of-work musicians who room together in New York City. To save money, Jon has been filing tax returns listing the pair as a married couple.

The day of reckoning comes when the Internal Revenue Service informs the "couple" they're going to be investigated by a Mr. Spinner (Ronald A. Decker of Baldwin). Leslie masquerades as a housewife, aided by Jon's fiancée, Kate (Karin Crighton of Baltimore).

Complicating matters further, Leslie and Kate are having an affair behind Jon's back, Jon's mother (Margie Cummins of Dundalk) drops in unexpectedly to meet her son's fiancée, and Leslie's ex girlfriend (Tracy Dye of Nottingham) shows up demanding to know why Leslie has changed and won't see her anymore. Albert J. Boeren of Rosedale plays Mr. Jansen, the landlord.

This Cockpit in Court production is directed by Jason Crawford. Scenic design is provided by Michael Rasinski with lighting by Katie Nelson and costumes by James J. Fasching.

Performances take place Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. June 20 through 29, 2008. All performances take place in the Cabaret Theatre, upstairs in the B Building on the campus of CCBC Essex. Tickets are available from the Box Office at 410-780-6369.
