'Nunsense' kicks off Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre's 36th season at CCBC Essex
Production runs June 13-29, 2008 on the Mainstage in the B Building Theatre
Baltimore County, Md. -- Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre kicks off its 36th season with Dan Goggin’s musical farce Nunsense, running June 13-29 in the B Building Theatre at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd. Performances are at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays, with one additional performance 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26. Tickets range from $12 to $18 and are available by calling the Box Office at 410.780.6369.
Winner of four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Off Broadway Musical in its original New York production, Nunsense became a hilarious international hit, and has spawned several sequels. The pretense of the show is a fund raiser put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury their sisters, who were accidentally poisoned by the convent cook.
Under the leadership of the Reverend Mother (Maribeth Vogel Eckenrode of Ellicott City), the other four nuns in this well-intentioned evening of entertainment include Liz Boyer Hunnicutt of Perry Hall as Sister Hubert, Holly Gibbs of Hamilton as Sister Robert Ann, Amy Pierson of Baltimore as Sister Mary Amnesia and Laura Weiss of Baltimore as Sister Leo.
The Cockpit in Court production is directed and choreographed by Gregory Dorsey with musical direction by R. Christopher Rose. Lighting design is provided by Terri Raulie with costumes by James J. Fasching.
Performances take place 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays June 13 through 29, 2008, with one additional performance 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26. All performances take place in the B Building Theatre on the campus of CCBC Essex. Tickets are available from the Box Office at 410.780.6369. The Box Office is open 9 a.m - 3 p.m.Tuesdays through Fridays, and two hours before every performance.
The B Building Theatre at CCBC Essex is wheelchair accessible and provides listening assistance devices for the hearing impaired.
