CCBC SIFE team invited to regional competition New kids on the block to showcase stellar year
Baltimore County, Md. - Although CCBC’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team has only been in existence since September 2007, the group has been invited to compete in a regional competition Tuesday, April 8 in Philadelphia, Pa. Team members will compete against other SIFE teams from two and four-year colleges.
The competition will consist of a live presentation, which will highlight the tremendous efforts of CCBC’s students. CCBC’s SIFE students will be able to participate fully in the competition as a result of the generosity and commitment of the college’s Business Studies and Public Relations departments and CCBC Catonsville’s Office of Student Life and AAWCC chapter.
The CCBC SIFE Team has completed more than 30 projects and partnered with more than 20 different organizations. Projects have included organizing multiple lecture series; conducting a civility symposium; helping Catonsville High School students raise money to assist Hurricane Katrina victims; and helping fledgling companies develop Web sites and marketing strategies. According to the national SIFE office, the group has had an unprecedented inaugural year.
Be a part of this incredible experience, and provide the CCBC SIFE team with an audience during its rehearsals for the competition. Rehearsals will be held 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 1 in H-308A; 3:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 in AF-318; and 2-6 p.m. Monday, April 7 in H-308A. Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are welcome to attend.
