CCBC Dundalk honors 34 employees for their service
Amanda (Mandy) Smith, director of Auxiliary Services for CCBC,
tops the list with 40 years of service

Baltimore County, Md. – For Highlandtown, Md. resident Amanda L. (Mandy) Smith, the Community College of Baltimore County must seem like her second home. For 40 years, she has worked for the college, most recently as CCBC director of Auxiliary Services. Smith is one of 34 employees on the Dundalk campus who will be honored at noon on Tuesday, May 27, for their years of service to the college.

Bernadette Flynn Low of Darlington, Md., professor of English in the School of Liberal Arts, is close behind marking 35 years of service. CCBC Dundalk campus dean Carol A. Sullivan of Sykesville, Md. and Linda M. Price of Dundalk, Md., administrative assistant to the Dean of the School of Justice, are honored for 30 years of service. Catherine M. Birkelien of Rosedale, Md., interim director, CCBC Foundation and Sharon Casey of Baldwin, Md., librarian, will celebrate 25 years of service to CCBC.

Employees to be honored for 20 years of service are Dundalk, Md. residents: Sharon A. Barker, supervisor of Support Services, Gail E. Bennett, gifts manager, Donald B. Felty Jr., stock handler and Robert L. Stone, accounts payable manager. Jerome W. Foehrkolb, Sr., of Joppa, technical support specialist, Hattie L. Gant of Highlandtown, Md., custodian; Kirk E. Soistman I of Middle River, Md., manager of CCBC Dundalk Duplication Center, and Elaine Sweeney of Bel Air, Md., Testing Center technician, are also 20 year employees.

Three 15-year CCBC employees are: Iris M. Arroyo of Dundalk, Md., Registration Supervisor; Elizabeth A. Kennedy of Dundalk, Md., Learning Support/Web specialist and Robert G. Kraft of Bel Air, Md., assistant vice president of Administrative Services.

Ten-year veteran employees include: Walter H. Dustman of Catonsville, Md., administrative assistant, Alumni Services; Josephine M. Lepper of Middle River, Md., program secretary, grants assistant; Aldo G. Locco of Abingdon, Md., computer operator II; Amy S. Matschulat of Nottingham, Md., secretary to the director of Co-Curricular Activities; Christina M. Megenhardt of Dundalk, Md., Plant Operations specialist and Emilie W. Wible of Govans, Md., director of Budget and Finance, Continuing Education and Economic Development.

Five-year honors go to: Bruce Berman of Pikesville, Md., vice president for Institutional Advancement; Melissa A. Keim of Dundalk, Md., student account specialist; Suzanne M. Knutson of Sparrows Point, Md., department secretary, School of Justice; Eric J. Lott of Parkville, vehicle equipment mechanic I; Donna Mandl of Aberdeen, Md., chairman, Legal Studies, School of Justice; Tyrone McKoy of Catonsville, Md., assistant professor of Mathematics; Stephanie Z. Melvin of Glen Burnie, Md., director of CCBC Alumni Relations; Edwin Shupe of Essex, Md., building and maintenance mechanic I; and Carrole A. Welsh of Finksburg, Md., program director of Practical Nursing, School of Health Professions.

CCBC will honor its employees’ years of service with receptions and ceremonies on all of its campuses during May.
