Q: I feel that I need some orientation to WebCT/Blackboard before beginning the course. What options are available?
A: You can get a quick start to online learning by taking advantage of these options:
1. A series of Online Tutorials can be found at http://www.ccbcmd.edu/distance/tutorials.html
2. “Orientation for Online Learning” Video Program on the Web
Students with a broadband Internet connection can view the Orientation for Online Learning program via streaming video. Go to one of the following URL’s:
Off-Campus: http://204.153.78.232:81/video/distance_learning/online_07.wmv
On-Campus: http://10.51.9.2:81/video/distance_learning/online_07.wmv
3. Students may request a free DVD of the "Orientation for Online Learning" video program. Contact Janet Buckley at 443-840-6551, or email jbuckley@ccbcmd.edu.
(The DVD will only play using Intervideo WinDVD player, which is included on most PC's. If the player is not selected initially, you can launch it from the Start Menu.)
5. Face-to-face general orientations to WebCT/Blackboard will be conducted on the Catonsville and Essex campuses. Please continue to check this page for updated schedule information. These sessions are by appointment only. To reserve a seat, choose the session, time, date and location convenient to you, then email jmartin@ccbcmd.edu. Enter "Online Orientation" in the subject line. In your message be sure to include your name, CCBC ID number, and the session you widh to attend.
