A Message from the Director
Welcome to the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC)! The Department of Public Safety exists to be of service to our community. We provide a variety of services with a mission of fostering an environment where students, faculty and staff are empowered to study, teach, work and learn without undue concern for safety and security issues.
Each college campus has its own challenges for security and safety and CCBC is no different. We believe that an educated and informed community is a safer community. Please take a few minutes to review our Public Safety web pages. Since we are not immune to crime, I urge you to prepare yourself by reviewing crime prevention materials, reporting suspicious behavior to the department, and filing reports of crime should you be a victim or a witness.
Our yearly campus crime report is published by October 1st each year. This report will contain campus crime statistics as well as other crime statistics required by the Department of Education. Also, you will find other materials on our web site to educate you on not becoming a victim of crime.
Let me conclude with an invitation to contact our department should you have any questions about CCBC’s Department of Public Safety. We do want you to be safe during your visit to any of our campuses. I welcome your comments and suggestions to continually improve the environment in which student learning is our community’s highest priority.
