CISL Yearly Highlights
2002-2003
Focus: To close the academic gap between minority and majority students
and to raise the achievement levels of all students.
Subcommittees:

New Faculty Orientation - to develop a mentor program and
assessment techniques for the pilot program.

Year of the Adjunct - to establish college direction and
initiatives for ensuring a high level of interaction and training for
adjunct faculty.

Student Orientation - to create a CD rom to be used by incoming
students that introduces students to the responsibilities and
principles of a learning college.

Thematic forums - to establish additional means of
communicating with faculty and staff through forums on topics such as
multiple intelligences, African culture, and life choices.

an extended orientation to the learning college for new faculty.

Year of the Adjunct - to investigate and report on best
practices in developing adjunct and to make recommendations for
expanding existing programs.

Student Orientation - to provide recommendations for improving
students' recognition of their responsibilities in a learning college
in their orientation.

Thematic forums - to establish additional means of
communicating with faculty and staff.
