Sunday-Wednesday, June 8-11, 2008
Sunday will be a traveling day arriving at the Four Points Sheraton in downtown Asheville at approximately 5:30 pm. After time to refresh, we'll enjoy a group dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Chop Shop. On Monday, we'll enjoy a guided tour of Asheville with lunch at Chelseas. Located in historic Biltmore Village, Chelseas recreates the sense of a bygone era in the charm and elegance of a little cottage. There is also a specialty gift shop on site and we'll have some time to explore the other shops in Biltmore Village. Then next stop is the Folk Art Center where unique, handmade gifts by local artisans abound. Then it's on to the famous Grove Park Inn for a self-guided tour of this historic inn before returning to the hotel and a free evening. Since we're staying in town, there's plenty of shopping and dining options. The Biltmore Estate is on the agenda for Tuesday. The tour of the mansion is self-guided with audio headsets. We'll have lunch at Deerpark, and tour the winery and River Bend Farm--all on the estate grounds. The evening will be free to enjoy and explore as you wish. We'll depart on Wednesday morning.
