Requirements for financial aid recipients

In addition to being accepted at CCBC, enrolling in an eligible program and demonstrating financial need, each financial aid recipient must:

• Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
• Have a high school diploma, GED or have the ability to benefit (Students without a high school diploma or GED must take and pass a required test.)
• Register for at least six billable hours per semester (Pell grants can be fewer. Some developmental courses are not eligible for financial aid.)
• Make satisfactory academic progress toward the completion of a course of study
• Not be in default on any prior educational loan or owe a refund on an educational grant or on an educational loan
• Not owe a repayment on any Title IV, HEA grant previously received from any institution
• Register with the Selective Service if the student is a male 18 to 25 years of age and is not currently a member of the active Armed Forces
• Not have been convicted of possessing or selling illegal drugs after July 1, 1998 while receiving Federal student aid (grants, loans, or work study).
