Program Description:
The Floral Design program is designed for individuals who wish to become professional florists, desire to upgrade presents skills, or simply want to experience the art of floral design. Certain courses require a $50.00 lab fee. Please consult course descriptions or program coordinator for more information.
Students who successfully complete the requirements for a Floral Design Certificate will be able to:

Demonstrate competence, knowledge and skills relevant to the art of floral design through the construction of simple arrangements, creative designs and complex displays;

Fully understand and describe the operations and management of a retail florist business including personal classifications, relationships to wholesalers and suppliers, purchasing, marketing, sales, delivery, product line, industry trends and service organizations and computer applications;

Demonstrate knowledge of perishable and non-perishable products sold in a florist’s shop including identification, proper use and general care; and
-
Comprehend the various principles, sales techniques and procedures relevant to effective customer relations necessary for operating a successful florist business.
