Program Description:

This program provides students with education and training to prepare them for entry-level positions in human services as well as for transfer to four-year institutions to attain professional degrees. Graduates of this program can expect to find employment serving a range of client populations including persons with physical and developmental challenges, mental health and substance abuse issues, elderly and vulnerable/at risk children.

Program Outcomes:

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  1. Effectively express opinions and facts through both oral and written communication;
  2. Assess and document a client's current status and apply basic therapeutic techniques; and
  3. Develop, prioritize, and implement a case management plan to address a client's issues.

Students who choose this curriculum and desire to transfer courses to a four-year institution should check with the program coordinator and an academic advisor. While many courses will transfer, certain specialized courses may not.
