Mary L. Harvey
Class of 1986
Mary Harvey graduated from CCBC Dundalk (then Dundalk Community College)
in 1986. After graduation, Mary became involved in politics and worked
as a legislative aide with the Baltimore County Council, serving in that
capacity for eight years, working in Eastern Baltimore County. In 1994,
Baltimore County Executive Dutch Ruppersberger appointed her to the
position of Eastern Sector Coordinator with the newly formed Office of
Community Conservation, a position she held for five years. In December
1999 she was promoted to Manager of Revitalization Programs and on May
1, 2000, she was promoted to Director of the Baltimore County Office of
Community Conservation. In 2002, County Executive James T. Smith
reappointed her to the director position. Mary is a graduate of
Leadership Baltimore County (1999); The Greater Baltimore Committee's
Leadership Program (2001); and was selected as Baltimore County's "Woman
of the Year" by the Baltimore County Commission for Women (1995). She is
also an instructor for the Dale Carnegie Training Systems. Mary serves
on the board of the Essex Community College Foundation (having attended
CCBC Essex before she received her bachelor's degree) and served as a
board member of the Essex-Middle River-White Marsh Chamber of Commerce.
She is married and lives in Perry Hall.
