About the Program
The mission of the Automotive Technology Programs at CCBC Catonsville is to prepare students for successful employment or advancement as automotive technicians. The Automotive Programs award a certificate, and/or an Associate in Applied Science Degree. The Automotive Technology program prepares students for employment as automotive technicians by providing them with state-of-the-art automotive service repair techniques. Technical training is provided in the classroom and in the lab on CCBC vehicles.
The Automotive Technology Programs at CCBC Catonsville meet the standards of N.A.T.E.F. (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation, INC) and The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). In 1992 the Automotive Technology program was first awarded full Master Certification in all eight-specialty areas from ASE.

Professional Development for Secondary Teachers
The CCBC Automotive Technology program continues to provide update training for Maryland High School Automotive teachers. This professional development funded through the Maryland State Department of Education provides 40 hours of instruction to update the instructors and allows them to meet their NATEF certification requirement for education. This summer the teachers learned about Engine Performance and a special one-day workshop on a variety of topics that occurred in October.
