About the Program
The HVACR program is now accepting students for Fall 2008. Classes will be held primarily at Catonsville campus, with two held at Dundalk campus. Teaching will employ half class time and half lab time. Hands-on training will be critical to learning in our renovated 3,000 sq. ft. lab/classrooms. Students will work with actual refrigeration, gas, oil and heat pump systems. Computer simulation software will be employed to further HVACR troubleshooting once the basics are understood. In addition, new courses in Energy Management & Services will be added to this program to provide the most up-to-date instruction and training for technicians. Courses geared to operations and maintenance as well as energy assessment will be part of the program.

Going Green in Maryland
A number of CCBC faculty and staff attended a “Going Green in Maryland’ workshop recently. This one day seminar highlighted the efforts of manufacturers and other companies to better manage their energy usage through energy efficiency, recycling, and clean technology approaches to increase profitability. The event was co-hosted by the Regional Manufacturing Institute and Baltimore County Government. Both CCBC and the TIME Center were sponsors for the event.
