What is an
Academic UNIX System Account?

The Community College of Baltimore County Academic system is
provided as a resource to support the computing needs of CCBC
students, staff and faculty. The Academic Unix System, or
"Student" provides students, faculty and staff with email and web
publishing facilities.
Effective Spring Semester, 2005, all students will be
automatically given free email accounts. All users must comply
with the written policies for this system. These policies are
available online or can be requested in
written form from Computer Services.

Access my Email Account?

1. Go to the login page for the CCBC Web Mail System at:
http://www.ccbcmd.edu/services/mail.html.
2 . Click "Enter Web Mail"
Note: Your email address will be username@student.ccbcmd.edu

How Do I
Apply for a Web Account?

Your Email account automatically provides web space. Please see
below.

How do I
Upload my Web Pages to my Student Account?

The student can now create web pages via the method of his/her
choice and ftp them to:
ftp://student.ccbcmd.edu/home/x/y/username/www/
Where x
is your first initial and y is your second initial. For example:
Joe Smith, username "jsmith": ftp://student.ccbcmd.edu/home/j/s/jsmith
Andrew B. Miller, username "amiller": ftp://student.ccbcmd.edu/home/a/m/amiller
