Middle States Accreditation

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Colleges and universities in the Middle States region are evaluated every five years. The most comprehensive evaluation occurs every 10 years after an institution is initially accredited. It is based upon a report that the institution prepares about itself, called a self-study report. Five years after the decennial visit, there is a second evaluation, which is based upon a Periodic Review Report.
