Payment Options for Non-Credit Courses

Need help covering the cost of your non-credit class at CCBC? Tuition assistance and flexible payment options are available for certain life enrichment, professional development and job skills classes.

Financial Aid funding is available for students who qualify for selected workforce-based programs and courses. Explore the options below and contact the Continuing Education Information Center at 443.840.4700 for more details.

How to pay

Tuition and associated fees vary by class. We accept personal or employer check, money order, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express) or cash (if registering and paying in person).

Opportunity grants

Continuing Education students who qualify may apply for need-based grants that can be applied toward the tuition and fees of eligible continuing education courses.

Pell Funding

The following non-credit courses of study have been approved by the U.S. Department of Education as Pell eligible: Machine Tool Short-term Training, Medical Assistant, Polysomnographic (Sleep) Technology and Surgical Technology.

Pell Experiment Funding

CCBC, in conjunction with the U. S. Department of Education, is participating in a Pell funding experiment. This experiment focuses on vocational or career training programs shorter than the traditional 600 hour program threshold that are not Title IV Pell approved.

Wood Fund Scholarship

The Kathy and Jerry Wood Foundation Vocational Scholarship Fund (Wood Fund) expands educational opportunities to students preparing for middle-skill jobs that require some training beyond high school but typically do not require a four-year degree.

Partial payment option

You can have monthly tuition payments automatically deducted from a checking, savings or credit card account through Nelnet Business Solutions. In order to use this service, students must complete an application and pay an initial deposit toward the cost of their course(s), as well as a $25 processing fee.

Note: This service is limited to students enrolled in a course costing at least $500 OR multiple courses in the same program division totaling $500. The payment plan should conclude prior to the course end date. Please call us at 443.840.4700 for more information and assistance with enrolling.

Tuition waiver for seniors

Maryland residents who are age 60 or older on the first day of class may enroll at CCBC without a charge for tuition. However, applicable fees still apply. Students must complete the birthdate section on the registration form.

Tuition waiver for individuals with disabilities

Individuals who are under 60 years of age and certified as retired due to disability as defined by the Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Act, may enroll in CCBC without a charge for tuition for eligible courses that lead to employment, including life skills instruction. Application fees, including registration and out-of-county fees, will be charged.

Disabled students who wish to apply for the waiver need to obtain a Certification of SSI/SSDI Disability form. This form is available online at, at the School of Continuing Education registration area, at any CCBC registration office on any campus, or by calling 443.840.4700. This form must be taken to the appropriate Social Security Office, or federal pension or retirement authority, which services the account for completion and signature.

The certification form, registration form and payment may be brought to any CCBC registration office. However, for the fastest service, please bring completed certificate of eligibility and registration paperwork to:

Employer or sponsor paid tuition

If your employer has agreed to cover your tuition and related fees, you must present written proof (purchase order, tuition assistance form, or letter on company letterhead authorizing billing) at the time of registration. In the event the employer does not pay the bill, the student is responsible for all tuition and fees.

Community Assistance Network

CCBC has partnered with The Community Assistance Network (CAN), a private, nonprofit, community action agency. CAN offers need-based financial assistance to students seeking continuing education training and skill upgrades. Please call 410-285-4674 for more information.

Workforce Investment Act

Unemployed? Working, but want to upgrade your skills? Are you an employer who wants to retrain your employees? If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you may be able to receive financial help to study at CCBC. Please contact the Baltimore City or Baltimore County Office of Workforce Development to see if you qualify.

To receive a refund or to add or drop a life enrichment, professional development or job skills class, please contact CCBC’s continuing education department at least one business day prior to the start of class. Refunds are processed in check form. Call 443-840-4700 for additional information.
