Serving the Community

CCBC welcomes the community to our campuses to enjoy classes, performances, our gardens, galleries, events and more. We continue to grow our partnerships with Baltimore County organizations to help expand our community outreach and enrichment efforts.

Connecting the community to the arts

The arts serve a critical role in the community by cutting across racial, cultural, social, educational and economic barriers to enhance cultural appreciation and awareness. Studies show that exposing students to the performing arts can improve self-expression and academic performance by developing higher order thinking skills including analysis, synthesis, evaluation and problem-solving. CCBC continues its commitment to serve the community in which we live with quality programming and provide students with hands-on internship experiences.

It’s good to see more people attending – and participating in – performances. The community benefits so much from being able to have an outlet for individuals’ artistic interests. My experience at CCBC has been enriching and fulfilling. I’m utilizing talents I didn't know I had!

The dental hygiene program prepares participants to successfully enter the dental profession. During the second-year as part of the required clinical coursework, students work under the direction of a licensed dentist to provide free or low-cost preventive dental services for the community with an emphasis on the needs of under-served populations.
