Welcome to Interpreter Preparation Club

Mission Statement

  • To promote maximal educational benefit for students within the field of Interpreter Preparation through awareness, social interaction, and on site experience.

About the Interpreter Preparation Club

The purpose of the Interpreter Preparation Club is to:

  • Foster scholarship, professionalism, and high ethical standards among the students members.

  • Promote status and recognition for interpreter students.

  • Work closely with the CCC ITR Advisory Committee.

  • Develop a strong alumni relationship.

  • Arrange for guest speakers from interpreting and related areas.

  • Develop job placement contact opportunities for members and graduates.

  • Arrange field trips related to the field of deafness and interpreting.

  • Co-sponsor campus events with the Cardinals of the Deaf and to promote Deaf awareness.

  • Encourage more social interaction between members of the Deaf Community and the interpreting students.

Events

Some favorite association activities include:

  • Silent Suppers and Bowling at various locations in Maryland.

  • Game night of Dingo.

  • Halloween evening of signed ghost story telling on CCBC campus.
