Academic Advising

International student counselors can help you:

  • Understand your placement test scores
  • Using the online catalog and schedule of classes
  • Access My CCBC and SIMON (Student Information Management Online Network)
    • Register for classes and make payments online
    • Check your grades and print an unofficial transcript
  • Register for the ESOL program
  • Select classes and requirements for your degree
  • Develop short-term and long-term educational plans
  • Monitor your academic progress
  • Understand transfer procedures and requirements
  • Apply for graduation

Educational Goals - Knowing your educational goal and identifying a program of study will help you succeed. Your goal may be to:

  • Earn an Associate Degree
  • Earn a Credit Certificate - to learn skills directly related to a career
  • Enroll in a Transfer Program - to transfer to a 4 year college or university

Decide which CCBC program of study is best for you and let us help you develop a plan for success. As one of your first steps at CCBC, meet with an international student counselor or advisor to create an educational plan with your placement results. Then, each semester before registering, you can, and should, meet with an advisor to update this plan and select the courses best for you.
